A Brief Note from HTE

November 5th, 2012

Hi. This is a brief post hoping that HTE readers on the east coast of the U.S. are okay … and that those who were impacted by the storm will be able to rebuild their homes and lives soon. We know so many people have a long way to go, especially in New Jersey and New York.

As you know, Hurricane Sandy was a whopper of a storm where the destruction and devastation was incredibly wide and deep. HTE is located near New York City and after a scary night last Monday watching huge hundred year-old oak trees snap in half before our eyes, we know we’re lucky it wasn’t worse for us. Our hearts go out to so many others for whom it was.

HTE’s electricity was restored last night, but we still don’t have Internet or phone. Thank you so much for your understanding as we get back on track here slowly. That being said, we’ll find a way to report on the big presidential election taking place tomorrow!! We can’t believe the day is already here!

In the meantime, if you are able to, and would like to help those still in need after the storm, please ask your adult to consider a donation to Save The Children  or the American Red Cross . So many people need it, especially as the weather gets colder.
