Snow in 49 of 50 States

January 23rd, 2011

There was snow on the ground recently in 49 of the 50 states! Can anyone guess which state didn’t have it?

It was Florida.  Even Hawaii had seven inches of snow a top an inactive volcano called Mauna Kea!

A little over 70% of the country had snow.  Even though this is really rare, it has happened before. Meteorologists say it happened last year on Feburary 10, 2010 (almost exactly one year ago). That time it was Hawaii that didn’t have snow. And 34 years ago, in 1977, it happened again but this time South Carolina was missing the snow.
