World’s Tallest Lego Tower
Wow! There’s a new world record for the tallest Lego tower! (Who knew there was even a Guinness Record for playing with Legos ?) It took over half a million Legos, over 6,000 people (mainly kids), and a crane to build the 102 foot, 3 inch tower (that’s a little over 3 regular school buses standing on top of each other!). And it took only four days to build it. The structure is in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Weighing about an ounce each, the Legos in the tower total over 31,000 pounds. It has a wider base on the bottom and gets thinner as it goes up to help make it more stable and lessen the weight load on the lower down parts. The higher up pieces in this tower are being supported by wires so they don’t tip over from the wind. Click here for some tower basics. How high can you make your Lego or block tower, I’d love to know!
The country of Chile had the record last year which was just one foot shorter.
You can watch here for more: (I love the little guy at the end).
Who knew you could that in build that in 4 days? I’ve never seen soooooooooo many legos!!!!!!!!!
