We Did It!

December 12, 2011 — National Geographic Kids and the Guinness Book of World Records has just confirmed that we’ve broken the record for the Most People Doing Jumping Jacks in a 24-hour period! Wow!

HTE Kids News, in conjunction with local Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and a New York elementary school sponsored a jumping event in October.

We had over 500 jumpers … contributing toward the 300, 265 that helped SMASH the record! The previous record was 20, 425!

First Lady, Michelle Obama, led the national effort as Jumper-in-Chief as part of her Let’s Move initiative . Here is her video announcement about breaking the record!

Congratulations to everyone involved in this wonderful effort, especially to so many kids who got out and jumped!
