World’s Tallest Waterslide!

Taller than Niagara Falls! Faster than a cheetah! Steeper than any ski slope! It’s the world’s tallest waterslide!
And it will be opening next month at the Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
It’s 168 feet, 7 inches tall. It’ll be like going down a 17-story building 65-miles an hour — faster than driving on the highway! And, yes, faster than the fastest land animal, the cheetah, which runs approximately 60 miles per hour.
The actual height of the waterslide was kept a secret until this past Friday, and Guinness World Records has since declared it the new world’s tallest.
The name of the water slide? Verruckt. That’s German for INSANE. Got that right!
So how does it work?
First, you have to be able to climb the 264 steps to get to the top. That should take about 7 minutes (plus a strong heart and no fear of heights!).
Then, you and three extremely brave friends go down in a 4-person rubber raft. If you just went down without the raft? Think world’s biggest wedgie.
And, thankfully, you’re seat-belted in and there’s netting over the top so you’re enclosed. Phew.
Sounds better already. But it’s still too terrifying for us!
Do you think you’d go down it? Would you want to?
I would love to but man that would be scary
Um, I think you have Kansas City on the wrong side of the state! Great Article!
Thank you, Tonya. I meant to put the identifier along the Kansas/Missouri border. Thank you for catching that and for being kind about it. It’s fixed now.
